We wake up each morning to get our days started, and everyone lives different lives & different routines.
As I walked to each child room, turned the light on in each room. I calmly tell them “get up guys, I’m taking you to day camp today”
I walk to the kitchen, open the fridge and remember I made coffee last night and put it in a cup so I could be ready to go when I woke up, that’s how moms prepare themselves for success each day of course. I take the first sip, ahh what a beautiful, bold and creamy taste to start the morning before the chaos of everyone looking for a sock last minute. The house is still quiet so it’s obvious nobody heard the first wake up call.
I head back down the hall, but this time with my cup of wonderful caffeine to give me that morning boost, and head back to each room and tell each kid “time to get up, come on guys”
It was a success, they’re up getting dressed, and we can leave at 7am, which is right on time to get to the day camp by 7:30. But wait! The toddler is still asleep; I need to get him up so he will have time to eat something. I rub his cheek and say “get up little boy, good-morning” and he opened one eye, I say “come on you can eat your breakfast I made you in the fridge” he opened both eyes, smiles and stretches around the bed, runs down the hall and heads to the kitchen ahead of me. I made it back to the fridge and I grab the cute little bowl with a lid on it that I prepped full of vanilla chobani yogurt with some freshly cut strawberries and hand it off to the toddler with a spoon.
I start to get my clothes on, and shoes and I hear a noise —— uh oh, someone left a cup full of juice on the table and it spilled. We’re out of paper towels until I am able to grab some so my daughter grabbed a towel and wiped it clean for me. That’s such a relief. How sweet can kids be sometimes?
Everyone is dressed, ready and heading out the door, in the car everyone buckles up and is ready for the journey of the day.
As we arrive into the entry way of the day camp, I see a huge water slide, oh no!! Today can’t be the day; how did I forget the best day of the summer for the kids! WATER DAY!
This definitely slipped my mind. Guess I will just go with the flow; so I told the kids love them and have a good day, and it’s okay because I will bring the clothes and towels back to them….
We just have to live in the moment; despite what went wrong, despite the anxiety. Everyday is a new beautiful journey that will one day be a fun, or wonderful story to share.

Awesome!!!
