Street corn anyone?

Have you ever tried street corn? Do we grill it, or boil it or maybe fry it in some grease to give it that authentic taste?

Growing up I was around my best friend who was a Latina and I got to try different types of foods and I loved all the flavors but this, is something that I would consider an “off” flavor. Is it the warm mayo, the seasoning may not be portioned just right, I know it’s not the lime because who doesn’t love a good lime flavor?

Me & my daughter decided to make street corn but not from scratch, it was a kit that Kroger sold and it had a prepackaged seasoning which I have no idea what was actually in it; 4 king corn cobs, mayo (probably the worse mayo you could purchase) and a lime 2 cut into 4 pieces which calculated to be one for each corn cob, and we cooked the corn (should have grilled it)- added the mayo, the lime, white cheese and the seasoning but the moment we bit into it, we both looked at each other like “we both messed up” it was like the mayo and seasoning absolutely did not go together.

My daughter said “we are never trying this again”

I said “nope! This is gross, and I won’t even be mad at you for throwing it in the trash right now because I’m heading to the track can now”

We will be grilling it next time, and creating our very own authentic blend and using a very good mayo because that was plastic not mayo. The lime itself was the best part.
